HYDERABAD: A Secunderabad resident named Sai died, reportedly after a fall in a well located on the premises of Hyderabad Adventure Club near Vikarabad on Saturday. The mishap happened in Godhumaguda village of Darur mandal of the district and came to light on Sunday. There are conflicting reports on the nature of death and what caused it. It was suspected that Sai's death occurred while playing the dangerous Treasure Hunt challenge game on the premises. The police, who are investigating the death, were in the process of ascertaining these aspects.
According to a police sub-inspector investigating the case, the Hyderabad Adventure Club invited participants on Saturday to take part in a series of games organised under the theme Moonlight Camping on their premises at Godhumaguda. "Sai, who was also one of the participants, jumped into the well. On information, a police team and fire personnel rushed to the spot and extricated him from the well. He was first taken to the Vikarabad Government Hospital before being shifted to a private hospital where he was declared dead. His body was brought back to the Vikarabad hospital," the police official said.
"We are probing why he had to jump into the well in the first place and was it part of any game played on the premises. Based on a complaint from his family members, we will register a case," the sub-inspector said.
