HYDERABAD: Tension broke out at the Secunderabad Railway Station as students of National Students Union of India (NSUI) trooped in and started an aggressive protest on Friday. The students said that they disapproved of the new 'Agnipath' scheme and demanded for the exams to be called off. They also said that the old scheme for Army recruitment was most suitable for them.

"We think that the scheme is very wrong. It took us three years to prepare for the exams, give multiple medical tests, wait for months, and now they announce a new scheme. It will only allow us to work for four years and then we'll be recruited as security guards. There is no future for us. We request the govt to bring back the old scheme or there will be riots everywhere," said a student amidst the protests.
