MUMBAI: The 'bhumi pooja' for Sri Venkateswara temple in Mumbai is slated for August 21 by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD). This would kickstart the construction of TTD's Mumbai temple.

The Maharashtra Government had allocated 10 acres, worth Rs 500 crore for the construction of the temple. Gautam Hari Singhania, head of Raymond Limited, Mumbai, stepped forward to donate for the construction of the temple.

TTD's Chairman Y V Subba Reddy presented an invitation to Maharashtra's Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Francis for the 'bhumi pooja' of Lord Venkateshwara's temple, which is going to be built in Mumbai. They blessed the Ministers with Vedic shlokas and also presented shawls in Mumbai, on Saturday.
