HYDERABAD: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) on Friday took strong exception to the controversial remarks made by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Ramesh Bidhuri with his hate speech targeting Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MP Kunwar Danish Ali.

During a momentous session in the new Parliament building this week, Ramesh Bidhuri used crude and communally charged slurs in Hindi and targeted Danish Ali, leading to a political storm in the country. The BJP even served a show-cause notice to Bidhuri and gave a fortnight period to him for his response.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), KTR said, "Shameful of the BJP MP to indulge in such abusive and atrocious behaviour. What’s even more shocking and shameful is the Speaker allowing this nonsense in the Lok Sabha. If this can happen in Parliament, I shudder to imagine what the situation in BJP-governed states is."

"It’s saddening and shocking to hear the disrespectful comments made by MP Ramesh Bidhuri towards MP Danish Ali in the supreme legislature of our nation. Such behaviour has no place in our democratic discourse. I request Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla to take immediate and stringent action," BRS MLC K Kavitha said on X.
