HYDERABAD: President Droupadi Murmu called upon the armed forces to be always prepared, by keeping in mind the integrated nature of Indian armed forces.

Addressing an impressive Combined Graduation Parade (CGP) of the 211th batch at the Air Force Academy (AFA) in Dundigal near Hyderabad on Saturday morning, she said that together the armed forces protected and covered wide skies, long shorelines, and borders.

She said that the operational capability of the IAF had multiplied after the induction of modern aircraft like Rafale fighter aircraft and Chinook heavy-lift choppers. Earlier the President reviewed the parade.

According to the AFA officials, this was the first time that the President of the country had ever reviewed the CGP.

A total of 119 IAF trainees in the flying branch and 75 trainees in the ground duty branch received the commission. Eight officers of the Indian Navy and Indian Coast Guard, and two Vietnamese trainee officers also have completed their training. The President pinned the ‘Wings’ and ‘Brevets’ on the chest of the cadets.

The parade culminated in an aerobatic display by Pilatus PC-7 trainer aircraft, a flypast by the formation of PC-7, an aerobatic show by Sukhoi SU-30 and synchronous aerobatic displays by the helicopter display team ‘Sarang’ and the Surya Kiran aerobatic team.

Governor of Telangana Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal V R Choudhary were also present.
