HYDERABAD: Former IPS officer and BRS leader RS Praveen Kumar on Wednesday expressed concern over the delay in taking up duties by the newly appointed 614 excise constables who received their orders. They were yet to join the training.

He expressed his anguish over the response from the minister concerned Jupally Krishna Rao, to the issue and questioned whether there was a government in the state.

Taking to his X handle on Wednesday, RS Praveen Kumar shared an attachment of an aspirant who explained their plight of still not receiving an update over the joining date and reporting to the jobs.

According to the letter shared by RS Praveen Kumar, the candidate expressed concern over not being appointed to the respective jobs despite being handed over the appointment order of February 11 at LB stadium. The candidate stated that despite the initial steps taken in the appointment process, the constables of the Excise Department had encountered a prolonged delay in their postings, unlike their counterparts in the transport and fire departments, who swiftly progressed through the administrative procedures.

"The lack of communication regarding the further progression of their appointments has left the selected candidates in a state of uncertainty and distress, with no clarity on the impending training or posting schedules," the aspirant asserted.

Further, the letter reads that the appointment orders stipulate a reporting deadline of April 13, with the promise of postings for those who adhere to the directive. However, the lack of updates regarding training and postings for the constables of the Excise Department has left the selected candidates concerned.

In the letter, the candidate, on behalf of the 614 candidates, urges the government to expedite the process and ensure timely postings to address the prevailing challenges and uncertainties.
