HYDERABAD: Reacting to the ongoing controversy over the Centre allegedly trying to rename India as Bharat, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC)

president Revanth Reddy said that there would be no change in the lives of the poor if the name of the country is changed

Revanth Reddy was speaking at a public meeting after leading a rally from the Rajiv Gandhi statue in Somajiguda to the Indira Gandhi statue on PVNR Marg on Thursday

along with State party incharge Manikrao Thakre and Sangareddy MLA T Jagga Reddy. The rally was undertaken to mark the one-year anniversary of the Bharat Jodo Yatra by Congress MP Rahul Gandhi

Revanth Reddy said that the BJP had become a threat to the people and that Manipur riots were proof of it.

"After the NDA came to power in 2014, there was a threat to the security of the people of the country. The safety of Dalits and women has become a question in the country," he said.

Revanth Reddy also criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for breaking his promise of providing two crore jobs per year.

"They are changing the name because they don't want to utter the name of I.N.D.I.A alliance. Modi is not discussing the issues of increased prices and Manipur riots in Parliament. He is devoting most of his time in just criticising the Congress," he said.

Speaking about the upcoming elections in the Stae, Revanth Reddy gave a call to party workers to work hard for the next 100 days to bring the Congress party to power in Telangana.
