Election Commission puts a stop to BJP's 'salu dora, selavu dora' campaign

HYDERABAD: The Election Commision of India has put a stop to the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) campaign against Telangana's Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao before the upcoming elections.

The election commission objected to the campaign, which started off with the slogan 'salu dora, selavu dora', meaning enough sir, farewell sir, after the BJP wanted to print posters of KCR. The BJP had planned to write that the Chief Minister was involved in corruption on the posters and publicise those across the State.

With the TRS leaders criticising the Central Government schemes and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP leaders criticising the TRS Government and KCR, the rivalry between the parties is seen to be increasing in recent times.

Posters against the Chief Minister were seen in many areas of the State after the Prime Minister's visit to Hyderabad, during which many posters and billboards were painted against Modi.
