MAHABUBNAGAR: Mahabubnagar Congress leader and three-time MLA Erra Shekar resigned from the party and joined the Bharat Rashtra Samithi(BRS) party in the presence of BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Sunday.

KTR, who welcomed Erra Shekar with a pink scarf, said that Erra Shekar would be a great addition to the party, particularly in Palamuru, and that his presence would strengthen the party in Mahabubnagar district.

While talking about his relationship with Chief Minister KCR since the Telangana movement, Erra Shekar said that he would extend his full support to the BRS supremo KCR who continued to work for the State's overall growth.

Chief Minister KCR had implemented numerous programs to enhance the economic conditions of the poor and weak sections of Telangana State, he added.

Erra Shekar said that he joined the party under KCR's leadership to carry forward the programmes implemented to improve the lives of the weaker sections, particularly the Mudiraj community.

He said that government programmes such as the Integrated Fisheries Development Scheme, Mission Kakatiya, and irrigation projects had significantly improved the lives of the Mudiraj community, resulting in a significant increase in fishery wealth.

Erra Shekar expressed his gratitude to KCR for the state of Telangana's comprehensive development and the numerous wonderful programmes that were successfully implemented for BCs. He also pledged to work under KCR's leadership for a better future.
