HYDERABAD: HYDERABAD: Rejecting all claims of prospective alliance with the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in Telangana for the 2024 parliament elections, AICC spokesperson Pawan Khera has said Telangana is one of the regions where the Congress will fight head on with regional parties and defeat them.

"An attempt is being made to harm religious harmony in Telangana," Pawan Khera, who was in Hyderabad on Tuesday to address the media, said. When asked if the Congress would ban organisations like Bajrangdal in Telangana, he said that the Karnataka Congress made it clearly that those causing disruption with hate speeches would be sternly dealt with. They included Bajrangdal and PFI.

When discussing the possibility of forming an alliance with the BRS party, he said that the Congress would emerge victorious in Telangana, with the BRS and the BJP struggling for the second place.

The AICC spokesperson said, "Karnataka results are historic. The Prime Minister has made no comment in response to their defeat in Karnataka. It's heartbreaking that a Prime Minister is attempting to divide people of this country. The Prime Minister is unconcerned about the future of the country. He does not espouse the people's ambitions and dreams. That is why he's busy keeping the media and opposition busy."

"Appointing a Chief Minister is not an easy thing," Pawan Khera said about the decision to choose the new Karanataka Chief Minister.

"Such an important decision cannot be made from the capital. Everyone's point of view must be considered. We must consult with all stakeholders before deciding on a chief minister. A decision on the selection of Karnataka's Chief Minister will be made within the next day or two," he added.

"We approved the promises made in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Himachal Pradesh in the first cabinet itself. The promises given to the people of Karnataka would be fulfilled in the first cabinet," he said.
