HYDERABAD: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy sought the support of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

CPI (M) State Secretary Tammineni Veerabhadram, Julakanti Rangareddy, and Cherupalli Sitaramulu Veeriah met with the Chief Minister at his residence in Jubilee Hills on Saturday. During the meeting, Revanth Reddy asked for CPI (M)'s complete backing for Congress candidates in the Bhongir and other constituencies. He said, "We put forward some political proposals to the CPI (M) leadership, and they agreed to support Congress to defeat the BJP."

The Chief Minister noted that the CPI (M) was part of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) at the national level, a coalition that opposed the BJP. He acknowledged that there could be differences in working together in Telangana, but stated that these issues would be addressed through discussions with the leadership to reach a consensus by Sunday.

Revanth Reddy announced that Congress intended to move forward with the support of CPI (M) and expressed hope that this partnership would help Congress in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
