HYDERABAD: Telangana BJP leaders were house detained on Thursday ahead of their scheduled visit to the 2BHK housing construction site at Batasingaram Village in Ranga Reddy district.

BJP leader Ramchandra Rao, BJP SC Morcha State President Koppu Lehi, Kisan Morcha State General Secretary Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy, and Bhuvanagiri District General Secretary Narsingh Rao were all detained at their homes. A few BJP leaders were taken into custody in Hayat Nagar police station and multiple other places around the state.

Telangana BJP president G Kishan Reddy strongly condemned the at-home detention of state BJP officials, alleging that the house house arrest exposed the authoritarian government under BRS.

Kishan Reddy took to Twitter on Thursday and tweeted, "The house arrest of Telangana BJP leaders ahead of the visit to the housing construction site at Batasingaram Village in R R district, Telangana is highly condemnable. It yet again exposes the tyrannical rule under BRS. High-handedness and muzzling of opposition voices has become the hallmark of KCR govt."

A 60-member delegation led by G. Kishan Reddy, Union Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Development of the North Eastern Region and President-Designate of the TS-BJP, including present and former MLAs and MPs, had planned to visit the Bata Singaram village to inspect the ongoing two-bedroom project on Thursday.
