Telangana HC suspends curbs on Bandi Sanjay's Praja Sangrama Yatra

With the high court direction, the BJP leader will now be able to resume his yatra.

HYDERABAD: The Telangana High Court on Thursday ordered an interim suspension of a Warangal Police notification restraining BJP Telangana chief Bandi Sanjay from continuing his Praja Sangrama Yatra. With the high court direction, the BJP leader will now be able to resume his yatra.

The court ruled that the police notice to halt the Yatra was based solely on fear of untoward incidents. It amounts to nothing but a breach of Article 19 of the Indian Constitution, the high court reportedly observed.

The Warangal police commissionerate on Tuesday foiled Bandi Sanjay's Praja Sangrama Yatra by ordering him to halt it with immediate effect. The Warangal police department had also warned him with legal action if he did not comply with their orders.
