HYDERABAD: Google invited Rama Devi Lanka, a representative of the Telangana government, to attend the Google for India summit 2022 on December 19 in New Delhi.

She was one of three "Women in Artificial Intelligence" who discussed Telangana's Emerging Technologies Wing and different AI efforts at Google for India summit 2022.

The Emerging Technologies Wing was established with the help of the IT minister K T Rama Rao and the leadership's unwavering support. Technology-specific frameworks were developed by ET Wing in fields like AI, Blockchain, Cloud, Drones, and SpaceTech.

Telangana AI Mission, Blockchain District, Cyber Security CoE, e-waste CoE, and National Centre in Additive Manufacturing are among the five Centres of Excellence (CoE) established by ET Wing (NCAM). ET Wing was also working on over 35 projects in 12 different domains, including agriculture, healthcare, education, microfinance, climate change, and others.

ET Wing, according to Rama Devi Lanka, is focusing on technologies such as artificial intelligence and cloud computing. AI would be a powerful tool for governments to use to drive transformational change across multiple sectors. ET Wing was involved in 15+ projects with over 30 partners in AI. We want to use AI to have a large impact on people's lives.

She stated, "This was a one-of-a-kind initiative that we hope to replicate across industries. Telangana would continue to focus on population-scale products and solutions that will impact billions of lives not just in India but around the world, ushering in a new era of digital transformation".

The AI-based Pest Management project had assisted farmers in increasing their income and, as a result, improving their livelihoods. To enable faster AI innovation, the Telangana government had launched a number of initiatives aimed at building a comprehensive digital agriculture ecosystem, including the Agriculture Data Management Policy Framework and the Agriculture Data Exchange Platform. Telangana's vision was to develop something akin to a UPI, a very thin interface that allows data to be shared across the ecosystem.
