HYDERABAD: Elon Musk, the CEO of Twitter, announced on Tuesday that the microblogging platform had reached a new record high by adding 1.6 million daily active users during the last one week.

Musk believes this will significantly improve when Twitter becomes more widely used outside of North America, Western Europe, and Japan.

He took to Twitter to say, "Twitter added 1.6M daily active users this past week, another all-time high. This will improve a lot as Twitter becomes fast to use outside of North America, Western Europe and Japan".

Several users commented on Musk's post, with one saying, "Twitter is a new Google, or it may be far superior to Google. That's what I said in an interview a month ago. Perhaps I know Elon's Twitter strategy ".

Another user said, "All the Germans are now signing up. They mostly never heard about Twitter or don't understand it at all. Also, every local newspaper is now writing daily about Twitter. Even my mom now knows about Twitter and you Elon".

"This is what happens when words take action. Giving back the freedom of speech, to allow discussions and debit is the way to move forward and grow," a Twitter user commented.

Another user says that he joined Twitter only because of Elon Musk, "I joined Twitter for @elonmusk and his great work".

Whether for the blue tick subscription or the mass layoffs, the microblogging platform has been in the news since its new CEO, Elon Musk, took over.

Due to the widespread usage of fake accounts, Twitter suspended the $8 blue check membership service it had just announced and declared that it would resume on November 29, 2022.
