3 killed as car overturns after ramming into van in Jangaon district

JANGAON: Three persons including a minor girl were killed in a ghastly road accident in Jangaon district on Tuesday. The mishap happened on the national highway near Pembarthi when a car overturned after ramming into a stationary DCM van.

The driver and cleaner of the van besides a six-year-old girl travelling in the car lost their lives in the tragic incident. The names of the deceased were not immediately known.

According to reports, the incident happened when the driver and cleaner of the DCM van were busy changing a punctured tyre of their vehicle on the roadside. The car rammed into the vehicle from behind before taking a tumble. It could not be immediately established if there was a brake failure or what exactly caused the accident.

Even as the three persons reportedly were killed on the spot, two others travelling in the car sustained serious injuries. They were shifted to Jangaon General Hospital.

The identity of the deceased and injured was not yet known. The police who reached the spot registered a case and were investigating.
