The MHSRB has successfully concluded the recruitment process for staff nurses, announcing the selection of 6,956 candidates out of the 7,094 notified vacancies.

HYDERABAD: The Medical and Health Services Recruitment Board (MHSRB) has successfully concluded the recruitment process for staff nurses, announcing the selection of 6,956 candidates out of the 7,094 notified vacancies.

The selected staff nurses will be given appointment letters by Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on January 31.

The MHSRB had issued the notification for Staff Nurse recruitment on December 30, 2022. A total of 7,094 vacancies were notified, attracting a substantial response with 40,936 candidates applying for the positions.

The Computer-Based Test took place on August 2, 2023. A significant number of applicants, 38,674, appeared for the CBT.

The provisional merit list was released on December 28, 2023, and The final merit list and selection list were published on January 28, 2024.

Out of the notified 7,094 posts, 6,956 candidates were selected, leaving 138 posts unfilled primarily due to a lack of candidates, especially in the orthopedically challenged category.

The selected candidates are distributed across various departments, with the Director of Medical Education/Public Health and Family Welfare having the highest number of vacancies at 5,571 followed by Telangana Vaidya Vidhana Parishad - 736; MNJ Institute of Oncology & Regional Cancer Centre (MNJIO&RCC) - 81; Department for Disabled and Senior Citizens Welfare - 8; Telangana Minorities Residential Educational Institutions Society - 117; Mahatma Jyothiba Phule Telangana Backward Classes Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society - 253; Telangana Tribal Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (Gurukulam) - 68; Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society - 109 and Telangana Residential Education Institutional Society - 13.

The selected candidates reflect a diverse representation, with 45.97% from Socially and Economically Backward Classes, 30.64% from Scheduled Castes, and 12.81% from Scheduled Tribes.

Of selected nurses, 88.16 percent are women and 11.84 percent are men.

Staff nurses will receive a minimum basic pay of Rs. 36,750 along with allowances such as DA and HRA.
