HYDERABAD: Karuna Sagar, the lawyer for BJP MLA Raja Singh, lodged a complaint with the police here alleging that he was receiving threat calls after assisting Raja Singh with his bail plea. In his complaint, Karuna Sagar claimed that he had received threats from across the world for providing legal assistance to Raja Singh in obtaining bail on Tuesday.

He said that he was unruffled by the number of phone calls he had received. He stated that he would help anyone working for the 'Hindu Dharma'. It was not clear immediately if an FIR was registered in relation to the threatening phone calls.

Meanwhile, there have reportedly been a number of protests against the release of BJP MLA Raja Singh in the Shalibanda neighbourhood of the Old City. According to reports, 31 demonstrators were detained on Wednesday and taken to the Kanchanbagh police station.

Uma Maheshwar Rao, Kanchanbagh Inspector, told NewsTAP, "Around 31 people were protesting against Raja Singh's bail in the Shalibanda area. We detained all of them and will release them shortly. Syed Sohail Quadri, an AIMIM corporator, was among the 31 protestors".
