Karimnagar: BRS President and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) has said that his party strives to bring about qualitative change in the lives of people and that Telangana will remain as a Secular State till he is alive. He added that all the communities were being treated equally by the BRS Government.

Speaking at a meeting in Karimnagar on Friday, KCR targetting the BJP and questioned the public, "Do they need a party that divides the people on the basis of caste and religion or do you want a party that works for the welfare of all the communities in the State?"

Explaining what BRS leader Vinod had done during his tenure as the constituency MP, KCR said that Karimnagar stood in the list of smart cities. He lashed out at the current Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay for using religion for political gain.

"BJP leaders were behind digging up of mosques and they are wearing a dirty mask in the name of Hinduism. There are many problems in the country like unemployment, poverty, etc. The saffron party leaders don't want to develop the nation. Rather they want to divide the people in the name of religion," he said.

KCR told the public that he had a special connection with Karimnagar and welfare programmes like Dalit Bandhu, Rythu Bandhu, and Rythu Bima were launched from Karimnagar district.

Recalling how KCR started the fast-unto-death from Karimnagar for achieving the Telangana State, Rao added that he was arrested from Alugnoor when he was protesting for a separate state and was kept in Khammam Jail. KCR said that Congress didn't sanction Telangana State despite forming Government at both the Centre and State in 2004 and added, "We ace strong enough to fight against the Congress for Telangana or else they would have stomped us."

He then explained how the Telangana State was progressing in all the sectors and said, "We are at the number 1 spot in per Capita income and per capita power utilisation."

KCR said that Telangana bagged the top position in agriculture growth and is ahead of Punjab in food grain production. The socio-economic needs of the Telangana were met under BRS Governance, he said.

The Chief Minister asserted that, "Congress ruled the country for more than 50 years. There was no continuous access to drinking water, irrigation water and power in Telangana under the Congress's reign for over 10 years in the State. People know what the Congress has done in their 10 years of governance and what the BRS did in the State over a decade of its governance."

The BRS President appreciated the efforts of Karimnagar MLA Gangula Kamalakar and said that he was working hard for the development of his constituency and Karimnagar had become a wonderful city. He added that Karimnagar would soon become a tourist spot.

He exuded confidence that Gangula Kamalakar would surely win with a huge majority from Karimnagar.
