HYDERABAD: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will address a public meeting in Khammam on August 27, to boost BJP's campaign in Telangana.

The rally is expected to be attended by lakhs of people, and would be Shah's first major public event in Telangana since the ruling BRS announced majority of its candidates. Shah would also meet senior party leaders during his visit to assess the BJP's poll preparations.

BJP leaders said that there was growing "anti-incumbency" against the ruling KCR Government in Telangana.

"All sections of society, including employees, students, and farmers, are angry with the government," said a BJP leader. "People of Telangana are now looking to BJP for a double-engine government to realize their aspirations and redeem Telangana from the clutches of corruption and dynasty," he added.
