HYDERABAD: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) has issued a pointed response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi after he claimed that Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) had expressed interest in joining the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

KTR stated that BRS was "not crazy enough" to align with the saffron party-led alliance. He countered Modi's assertion, asking, "Have we been bitten by a mad dog that we will join the NDA?"

During a public meeting in Nizamabad on Tuesday, Modi alleged that KCR had expressed his desire to join the BJP-led NDA during a meeting in 2020 following the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections. Modi took a jab at the Telangana Chief Minister, adding that he "didn't grant him (KCR) entry to NDA."

Describing the BJP as the "Biggest Jhoot Party", KTR sharply criticised Modi dubbing him the "chancellor of WhatsApp University," in reference to the spread of misinformation through WhatsApp forwards. He remarked, "What I found amusing are the white lies of Modi. Clearly fabricated."

KTR also highlighted the inconsistency in Modi's statements, citing his prior statement that BRS had funded the Congress in Karnataka and drawing parallels to his recent comment about KCR's willingness to join the NDA.
