KARIMNAGAR: BJP State President and MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar sat on a protest fast at his residence here on Wednesday resenting the police action foiling his Praja Sangrama Yatra.
The BJP state unit chief started the hunger strike accompanied by a galaxy of party leaders. Several leaders including new entrants Konda Vishveswar Reddy and actresses-turned-politicians Vijayashanti and Jeevitha Rakasekhar criticised the police for foiling his yatra.
Dr G Manohar Reddy, BJP SC Morcha national secretary S Kumar, district unit presidents Gangadi Krishna Reddy, Padayatra coordinator Jitta Balakrishna Reddy state committee members Rani Rudramadevi, J Sangappa, Daruvu Ellanna and many others participated in the protest along with Bandi Sanjay.
Bandi Sanjay, addressing the media at the end of his hunger strike, questioned the reason behind his arrest. He also demanded an explanation from the TRS government for constantly creating hindrances during their Praja Sangrama Yatra. Referring to the Delhi liquor scam Bandi Sanjay said, "The TRS government used my arrest to divert the attention of the public from the liquor scam."
The BJP State President also requested the people of Telangana to choose their leaders wisely.
