HYDERABAD: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Telangana President Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Tuesday called upon the party leaders and cadres to launch an extensive door-to-door campaign in the name of ‘Mahajan Sampark Abhiyan’ to highlight the development and welfare programmes implemented by the Narendra Modi government at the Centre, besides the overall progress of the country in the last nine years.

Addressing the BJP leaders of Karimnagar Parliamentary constituency at a hotel in Karimnagar under the leadership of party convenor Boyinapalli Praveen Rao, the BJP state president said that the previous United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government was rocked by several scams such as 2-G spectrum and illegal coal mining. “There used to be bomb blasts and unrest across the country, creating a fear psychosis of sorts among the people,” he said.

“However, after Modi took over as the Prime Minister, he has been providing transparent, corruption-free and the most efficient administration in the country and ensuring complete law and order with no bomb explosions and violence,” he said.

Sanjay pointed out that during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Modi government had supplied vaccines not only in India but also to nearly 50 countries to save the lives of the people. “That is precisely why the entire world, including the Australian Prime Minister, praised Modi as the ‘boss’ and Papua New Guinea prime minister had touched Modi’s feet for saving his nation from COVID-19,” he recalled.

He said that, during the Modi regime, there was construction of 74 new airports, expansion of road network by 53,000 km, introduction of as many as 20 world-class trains and 15 metro trains, establishment of 15 new All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), including the one in Telangana; increase of medical seats by nearly 70,000 besides establishing seven new IITs and universities; setting up of liquid nano urea plant and modernisation of railway stations as per international standards.

“The Centre has restored Ramagundam Fertilisers plant by spending Rs 6,338 crore so as to avoid scarcity of fertilisers to the farmers. Besides, the Centre is also supplying fertilisers to farmers at huge subsidy,” he said.

As a result of all these measures, India had reached No. 5 position, surpassing the United Kingdom in economic development, he said.

Sanjay also held a meeting with Karimnagar district Mahila Morcha representatives and called upon them to propagate the achievements of the Modi government.
