Bite marks, injuries on two SC hostel girls died in Bhuvanagiri, cases booked against warden,five others

BHUVANAGIRI: Six persons including the warden of the SC Welfare Hostel in Bhuavanagiri where two girls allegedly died by suicide by hanging in their room were arrested.

Police have booked warden Sailaja, autorickshaw driver Anjaneyulu, hostel cooks Sujatha and Sulochana, physical education teacher Pratibha, and tuition teacher Bhuvaneshwari under pertinent sections of CrPC 174. Bhuvanagiri police had been questioning the prime suspects, the warden, and the autorickshaw driver.

The incident which appeared to be a suicide pact between two friends Kodi Bhavya and Gade Vaishnavi turned into a murder investigation with the parents of the deceased girls refusing to believe the narration given by the hostel management. They along with several SC welfare and student organisations protested in front of the hostel demanding justice.

They highlighted the bite marks on the hands of the girls, injuries, and mutilations on their bodies indicating the involvement of several people in the suspicious death of the girls.

Kin of the girls alleged that the warden and her paramour an auto driver resorted to the murder of the girls as they saw them in a compromising position. They trashed the suicide note purportedly written by the girls exonerating the warden and also praising her as the only one who listened to them. They pointed out that the handwriting didn't belong to either one of the deceased girls.

With the pressure mounting on the police, they started questioning the warden and the autorickshaw driver about their role in the death of the two of the hostel residents. The tuition teacher where the girls were supposed to be present on the fateful evening of Friday, two cooks who might have helped the warden, and others who might have taken part in silencing the girls were also rounded up. Postmortem reports could throw more light on the real reason for the death of the girls.

Meanwhile, speaking to NewsTAP Bhuvanagiri DCP M Rajesh Chandra said that the police were investigating the case as suspicious deaths, and the preliminary report of the postmortem didn’t suggest any force exerted on the girls or rape.

“The forensic report of the viscera needs to be analysed too. However, the marks on the bodies might have caused due to the setting of rigor mortis. The parents didn’t file a case immediately meanwhile the bodies were kept waiting. Sometimes the marks could be postmortem,” he opined. However, he refused to pinpoint the reasons for the tragic death of the girls. He said that the suspects were being questioned.
