NALGONDA: In a shocking incident, a gang of Congress leaders allegedly attacked a BRS leader and young farmer in Nalagonda district on Thursday.

The victim, identified as Mende Suresh from Kasarlapahad village in Jajireddygudem Mandal in Nalgonda district who was at his farmhouse at the time of the incident was attacked by Congress leaders with beer bottles and sticks. The mobs also went on to attack the family members of the victims despite being women.

However, upon learning of the incident, the local BRS leaders and party activists arrived at the spot and shifted Mende Suresh to a hospital in Suryapet in an ambulance, where the latter is receiving treatment.

Meanwhile, former minister and BRS working president K Taraka Rama Rao responded to the incident and termed it as a shameless act of Congress goons. He alleged that the Congress leaders attacked Suresh Yadav for merely questioning the Government as Rythu Bandhu funds were not being released as promised and demanded that Telangana DGP take stern action against the Congress mobs.

KTR said that Suryapet MLA and former minister Jagdish Reddy and Ex-MLA Kishore met Suresh in the hospital on Thursday. He stated that he would meet Suresh soon in Thungathurthy.

Jagadish Reddy also strongly condemned the attack and described it as an act of cowardice.
