HYDERABAD: In keeping with his tradition, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) supremo and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) made the first electoral move by announcing a list of candidates to contest in the upcoming assembly elections on behalf of his party.

KCR, who amplified the buzz of the BRS announcing the party tickets ahead of the Congress and the BJP, initially ignited curiosity among contestants, aspirants and people by spreading information that he would announce the party tickets between 12.03 pm and 12.30 pm as it was purportedly an auspicious hour.

Even as all waited with bated breath, KCR kept the suspense revved up by not sticking to the publicised time but announcing that he would address the much-awaited press conference at 2.30 pm.

KCR changed candidates in seven constituencies and fielded new faces in six other constituencies. KCR himself will be contesting in two Assembly seats -- from his current Gajwel and also Kamareddy. Medak MP Kotha Prabhakar Reddy is fielded from Dubbaka Assembly constituency. Korutla MLA Vidyasagar Rao Kalvakuntla's son Dr Sanjay is nominated from the seat. Secunderabad cantonment Assembly seat was given to deceased MLA G Sayanna Lasya Nanditha. Malkajgiri MLA Mynampalli Hanmanth Rao who lashed out at Finance Minister T Harish Rao on Monday morning was however renominated. But, the Chief Minister said he would leave it to his (MLA's) choice.

All ministers were renominated in the upcoming elections.
