BRS govt budget reflects people’s welfare; BJP, Congress ruined country: Harish Rao

HYDERABAD: Telangana Finance Minister Harish Rao on Wednesday said that the budget introduced by the BRS government in the Assembly reflected measures meant for the welfare of all the people besides integrated and sustainable development. During the debate in the Legislative Assembly on the budget, the minister clarified various aspects besides taking a dig at the opposition members. He said that the Congress failed to develop the country while the BJP succeeded in decreasing the GDP. He said that the country was ruined in the BJP and Congress regimes.

Recalling the welfare schemes being implemented by the KCR government such as Kanti Velugu, Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Beema, Harish Rao found fault with the opposition for not endorsing the good deeds of the government. Addressing the questions raised by the opposition, he clarified that the scheme of double-bedroom houses in the state would continue as usual.

The Finance Minister said the government had sanctioned one DA out of three DAs for the employees and assured them that the remaining would also be sanctioned soon. The minister said that the government was ready to construct the New Osmania building and announced that UNANI Hospital would also be developed. He said that the government had no intention of imposing taxes aimed at generating more income.

In a reply to Congress Legislative party leader Batti Viktamaraka on the industrialists staging dharnas at Indira Nagar, Harish Rao refuted the allegations and said that there were no problems for Industries, be it with power and water supply. He took a jibe at the Congress, asking why there were power holidays during the Congress regime and reminding why Krishna river water was not brought to Hyderabad city.

Stating that there was no shortage of fertilizers in Telangana, Harish said that they were providing fertilizers to the farmers by building godowns in all the mandals to keep the buffer stock. Harish Rao made it clear that due to the foresight of the government and the vision of the Chief Minister, the farmers were facing no problems in the state.
