HYDERABAD: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K T Rama Rao has fumed against Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for turning a blind eye at farmers facing hardship following a hailstorm and rains that battered the standing crops in Telangana.

Taking to social media platform “X”, KTR said on Wednesday:

“Chief Minister sir, Why do you look down upon farmers? Yesterday, you did not care for farmers while crops were drying up. Today, you were not bothered even though crops were battered by hailstorm.

Except for making rounds to your Delhi leaders, couldn’t you see the tears of farmers in the ‘gully’>? Can’t you hear the cries for help by farmers?

“Except election nuisance, won’t you even condescend to the farmers facing hardship> Except seats, votes and related settlement, wouldn’t you go to the rescue of farmers even after some of them died by suicides?

“Does ‘Praja palana’ mean indulging only in politicking 24x7? Why is the focus being laid on organising defections not there on the crop losses? Don’t you find time to visit the damaged crops? Have you been exhausted of making rounds at your party high command? Don’t you have patience to listen to the woes of the farmers?

“You failed to release irrigation water to drying up crops so far. Isn’t your conscious allowing you to give compensation to t he damaged crops? Please remember that the State would not prosper if there was agriculture ‘where an ox wails and a tiller cries’. The Bharat “Rythu” Samithi – KTR took pride in calling the BRS so -- will continue to fight against the injustice meted out to farmers. Jai Kisan, Jai Telangana.”

Enraged by the plight of farmers who were distreesed due to crop damage following a hailstorm, KTR made this post.

In fact, the BRS leaders have been demanding compensation to the crop losses and also supply of irrigation water to protect the standing crops. It’s only on Tuesday that former Finance Minister T Harish Rao demanded compensation for the damaged crops and irrigation water to the drying up crops.
