HYDERABAD: TSRTC Vice-Chairman and MD VC Sajjanar on Tuesday launched a mobile app on Google Play Store named 'TSRTC Bus Tracking' which will enable passengers to track the location of the bus. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the app would help passengers plan their journey to avoid waiting time at bus stops and bus stations.

He said that 140 buses had been identified for bus tracking experimentally. They include 40 AC Pushpak buses belonging to the Cantonment and Miyapur-2 depots, 100 buses belonging to Miyapur-1 depot plying to Shamshabad Rajiv Gandhi International Airport and on other long-distance routes. Sajjanar said that buses from the Picket depot operating on long-distance routes like Srisailam, Vijayawada, Eluru, Bhadrachalam and Visakhapatnam were already under tracking and clarified that, in the next two months, all reservation services and special services in the districts and Hyderabad would be added to the app.

In all, the tracking system will be made available in 96 depots covering 4,170 buses across the state, Sajjanar said, adding that different tracks could be used for Hyderabad City, Metro Luxury, Metro Deluxe, Metro Express and district services. The TSRTC MD also said that the tracking system in the electric buses that run 24x7 to the airport would be convenient for the passengers.

The information of Garuda Plus, Rajdhani, Super Luxury, Deluxe and Express bus services can also be tracked, he said, advising the passengers to download the app from Google Play store or after visiting www.tsrtc. telangana.gov.in.
