HYDERABAD: Over the past 10 days, Rs. 243 crore worth of gold, silver, diamonds, and cash were seized in Telangana State following the implementation of the Modal Code of Conduct.
Telangana police seized 83.046 kg of gold, 212.244 kg of silver, 112. 195 carat diamonds, and 5.35 grams of platinum, worth over Rs. 57 crores.
Police seized over Rs. 4.4 crore worth of items and freebies, including 120 kg of rice, 1,296 stationery items, 2,749 kitchen items, 80 gift items, and 3,048 other items. The police seized 84.985 kgs of Ganja, worth Rs. 9.20 lakhs.
The police have returned cash and gold seized in certain cases after they received necessary documents. Telangana police maintain a strict vigilance against the illegal transportation of cash, jewellery, drugs, and other freebies.
