Congress announces Sri Ganesh as candidate for Secunderabad Cantonment by-poll

HYDERABAD: The Telangana Congress has named Sri Ganesh as its candidate for the upcoming by-poll for the Secunderabad Cantonment constituency.

The by-poll was necessitated following the unfortunate death of BRS MLA Lasya Nandita, who won the Telangana Assembly elections in December 2023. Nandita passed away in an unfortunate accident in February 2024 after car crashed into a divider on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) in Patancheru.

Incidentally, Nandita polled 59,057 votes and defeated her nearest rival Sri Ganesh by 17,169 votes who was then with the BJP.

The Secunderabad Cantonment by-poll are scheduled for May 13, which coincides with the Lok Sabha elections in Telangana.
