CS offers silk robes, pearls in Bhadrachalam on Sri Rama Navami, KTR takes part in celebrations in Kukatpally

With the Election Commission denying permission to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to offer silk clothes and Muthyala Talambralu to the Bhadrachalam temple for the Sri Rama Navami festival, Chief Secretary A Shanti Kumari fulfilled that responsibility.

HYDERABAD: With the Election Commission denying permission to Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to offer silk clothes and Muthyala Talambralu (pearls) to the Bhadrachalam temple for Sri Rama Navami festival, because of the Model Code of Conduct for the Lok Sabha polls, Chief Secretary A Shanti Kumari fulfilled that responsibility on Wednesday.

Temple doors at Bhadrachalam were kept open right from the wee hours of Wednesday to allow devotees to have a glimpse of Lord Rama. The day started with Suprabhata seva, later tiruvaradhanam, aaragimpu, mangalsasanam, and abhishekam were held. Later the utsava murthies were carried to the Midhila grounds to perform the ‘Kalyanam’.

The idols were placed on the silver pedestal. The priests then conducted mandapa sudhi (cleansing) by performing tiruvaradhanam, Vishvaksena pooja, and Punyahavacahana. The celestial marriage was conducted in Abhijit Lagnam after completing all rituals preparing the bride and bridegroom for the marriage.

During the wedding rituals, the ornaments gifted by Bhakta Ramadasu, such as pachchala patkama, chintaku patakam, kaliki turayi, and Rama mada were decorated to Sri Rama, Sita, and Lakshmana swamy.

Thousands from all over the Telugu States attended the celestial marriage. Supreme Court Judge PS Narasimha and High Court Judge Bhimapaka Nagesh Ramaiah also attended the Kalyanam. The whole Mithila stadium reverberated with ‘Jai Shriram’ chants.

Meanwhile, the BRS working president and former Minister KT Rama Rao took part in the Sri Rama Navami celebrations in the oldest Seetharama Swamy temple in Kukatpally. Local MLA Krishnarao, MLC Naveen Kumar. Former Minister Chamakura Malla Reddy attended Sri Rama Kalyanam at Landmark Convention Hall in Nagaram.
