TANDUR: Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister and KPCC President DK Shivakumar challenged Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Chief K Chandrashekar Rao and Working President KT Rama Rao to visit any Karnataka village bordering Telangana to personally ascertain whether that State was implementing the five-guarantees promised by the Congress party.

Addressing the Congress 'Vijayabheri Yatra' corner meeting at Tandur he said that he would arrange a bus for the Telangana Chief Minister and his family to visit Karnataka to prove that the farmers were given five hours of power, women were given free rides in KSRTC buses, Rs 2,000 monthly assistance to women, 200 units of free power to all households and 10 kg fine rice per person to households.

“KCR come and see, it is only 10 km from here. Not only in Karnataka, we will implement the six guarantees that we gave in Telangana in word and spirit. The Congress cabinet meeting on December 9 will take a decision to implement the guarantees and the Chief Minister will sign the papers,” he said.

He said that on December 9, the same day that Sonia Gandhi announced the intention of the UPA Government to carve Telangana 10 years ago, Congress would take over the reins of KCR and the former Chief Minister would have to shift to the farmhouse and relax.

Shivakumar said that the people of Telangana must reciprocate their gratitude to Sonia Gandhi who grated statehood for Telangana. “People should not forget the roots lest they will never get the fruits,” he said. Calling Congress party’s history as country history he said that if Congress was strengthened the nation would get, because a vote to Congress would strengthen the poor man,” he said.

Calling the BRS a B-Team to the BJP, he asked people to remember that Prime Minister Modi termed the KCR Government as the most corrupt Government in the country.

He said that the Congress Government in Karnataka was implementing the free power scheme successfully despite the total neglect of the power sector by the earlier BJP Government that ruled the State. “When I was the power minister I saw to it that the power production increased from 10,000 MW to 23,000 MW,” Shivakumar said.

Earlier TPCC president A Revanth Reddy said that the BRS Chief sensed defeat and in Achampet he said that he would return to the house and take a rest. “Before he does that the Congress will see that he returns the crores he earned,” Revanth warned.
