HYDERABAD: Within a day of its inauguration, the Dr BR Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat has bagged the prestigious Indian Green Building Council Award and was registered as the first gold-rated secretariat building complex in India. Telangana Roads and Buildings Minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy received the award from the representatives of the Indian Green Building Council at the Secretariat on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, an overwhelmed Vemula Prashanth Reddy reiterated that the new Secretariat was built in an environment-friendly manner with advanced infrastructure. He said that all the credit went to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) for constructing such a building in no time.

The Minister said that the new Secretariat was built keeping in view the greenery and opined that the greenery was enhanced to 7.7 percent through Haritha Haaram. Stating that the government was contemplating installation of solar power panels in the coming days, he expressed hope that they would soon bag the platinum award. He expressed happiness over the new Secretariat winning the Green Building Complex Award.

Vemula Prashanth Reddy congratulated ENC Ganapathi Reddy and his team which worked hard and thanked the Indian Green Building Council for bestowing the prestigious award and certificate on them. Secretary Srinivasa Raju, ENC Ganapathi Reddy, SE Lingareddy and EE Shasidhar and other representatives of the Indian Green Building Council participated in the award distribution programme.
