HYDERABAD: The Election Commission of India sought an explanation from former Chief Minister and BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao on the alleged comments he made against the Congress before it on April 18, 2024. He was asked to report at 11 am.

The ECI’s order came following a complaint filed by TPCC senior vice president G Niranjan on April 6, alleging that KCR used foul language and made derogatory comments against the Congress party at a rally on April 5, at Rajanna Sircilla.

The District Collector in his report had mentioned that KCR had said: “A Congressman told the weavers to go and sell condoms and ‘papads’ for survival. Are they sons of dogs? Who are they to ask us to sell Nirodhs and papads?”

The Collector in his report also mentioned that KCR used words like ‘Lathkors’, ‘Chavata Daddamalu’, and ‘Chetakani Daddamalu’.

AP CEO sends notice to TDP

Meanwhile, in Andhra Pradesh, the Chief Electoral Officer based on a complaint by the YSRCP served notices to TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh for violating the MCC. The YSRCP alleged that TDP’s social wing was circulating a compilation of videos in the form of a song against YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in a derogatory manner.
