Enrollment of new voters in Telangana till September 19, final electoral roll on October 4

HYDERABAD: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has asked new voters to enroll themselves by September 19, 2023, to be able to cast their vote in the ensuing elections in Telangana. They can file their applications online on the ECI website.
According to a press release by the Chief Electoral Officer, Telangana on Wednesday, all eligible citizens in Telangana, including those who would attain 18 years of age on or before October 1, 2023, could enroll themselves in the voters' list.
It further added that those who missed enrolling themselves on earlier occasions could now file applications for enrolment, objections, and corrections during the second special summary revision of photo electoral rolls (SSR-2023).
The ECI will publish the electoral draft on August 21, 2023; voters can file their claims and objections and new applications till September 19, 2023; and by September 28, all claims and objections will be disposed of. The final electoral roll will be published on October 4.
As per the given schedule, publication of draft electoral rolls would take place on August 3, 2023, filing of claims and objections could take place from August 21 to September 19, disposal of claims and objections by September 28, and updating the database for publication would take place by October 1.
