Governor, CM lead Republic Day 2023 celebrations separately in Telangana

HYDERABAD: Telangana Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundarajan and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) on Thursday led Republic Day 2023 celebrations across the state. At separate events organised at Raj Bhavan and Pragathi Bhavan, the governor and the chief minister hoisted the national flag.

Tamilisai was given a ceremonial guard of honour when she paid tributes at the Secunderabad Army Martyrs’ memorial.

Speaking on this occasion, the Governor commemorated the sacrifices of several freedom fighters and national leaders, who had widely contributed to the development of the nation. Chief Secretary Shantha Kumari, DGP Anjani Kumar and other senior officers participated in the ceremony held at Raj Bhavan.

Meanwhile, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao unfurled the national flag on the 74th Republic Day celebrations held at Pragathi Bhavan. The Chief Minister paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi and Dr BR Ambedkar for their contribution towards building a republic India.

Ministers Vemula Prashant Reddy, Satyavathi Rathore, Chamakura Mallareddy, Chief Secretary Shantha Kumari, DGP Anjani Kumar and other government officials attended the celebrations held at Pragati Bhavan.

KCR later paid floral tributes to the martyrs at the War Memorial of Parade Grounds in Secunderabad. The Chief Minister lit the Amar Jawan Jyoti, commemorating the sacrifices of the fallen soldiers.

Meanwhile, Telangana IT Minister KT Rama Rao took to Twitter to celebrate Republic Day.

“Wishing all of you a #HappyRepublicDay Jai Bharat,” Tweeted KTR.

In other celebrations, TPCC President unfurled the Tri-colour at an event organised at Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad.
