HYDERABAD: The Telangana Government on Tuesday urged the High Court Chief Justice Alok Aradhe to allocate a sitting judge to probe the sagging of the pier of Medigdda Barrage built under the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project in Jayashankar Bhupalpally.

The Government in terms of reference wanted the High Court to determine the main person in the construction of the project, how the contract was finalised along with other factors that led to the sagging of a section of the Barrage on the Maharashtra side.

Disclosing the Government's decision, Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the Government also ordered a vigilance inquiry into the incident.
