SANGAREDDY: Accepting the challenge of Chief Minister and TPCC chief A Revanth Reddy, former Minister T Harish Rao on Wednesday said here that he would resign from the post of MLA and would never contest again if the Chief Minister implemented Rs 2 lakh crop loan waiver in one go and also fulfilled six guarantees promised at the time of elections.

Addressing the media, the senior BRS leader gave a counter challenge to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, whether he would quit the post of Chief Minister if he failed to implement the crop loan waiver and six guarantees by August 15.

“I am ready for a debate with the CM on this at the Telangana Martyrs Memorial in front of the State Assembly on Friday. I hope he will attend the debate,” Harish Rao said. He said that he would resign if the CM implemented all the said promises or be prepared to resign from the CM post. Harish Rao set a deadline of midnight on August 14, 2024.

Enlisting the promises to be fulfilled by the Chief Minister by August 15, Harish Rao said that the Rs 2 lakh crop loan waiver was to be implemented by December 9, 2023. “The CM must take full responsibility for the delay and apologise,” he said.

Harish Rao said that the Congress Government must pay Rs 10,000 to each female beneficiary under the Rs 2,500 per month Mahalakshmi scheme, one tola gold under Kalyanalakshmi, pending amount of Rs 5,000 under Rytu Bharosa for Rabi season and another Rs 15,000 for the ensuing Kharif season, Rs 500 bonus per quintal of Rabi season paddy, Rs 10,000 pending pension under Cheyuta, and unemployment dole of Rs 4,000 totaling Rs 20,000 for five months.

“The onus to complete this task is on the Chief Minister. We as a responsible opposition will remind you of your responsibility. The CM should either fulfill the promises or quit,” Harish Rao said.
