SIDDIPET: Minister for Finance and Health T Harish Rao along with DGP Anjani Kumar and Additional DGP Shikha Goel inaugurated the ‘Bharosa’ centre for women and children in Siddipet on Saturday.

The Bharosa centre at the Siddipet Rural police station premises at a cost of Rs 1.18 crore was built with the financial assistance of Gowra Petrochem Pvt Ltd’s CRS initiative with all modern amenities.

“Siddipet ‘Bharosa’ centre is built with the latest technology aimed at providing a secure environment for the women facing a crisis. I have confidence this centre will become a role model for the entire nation,” Harish Rao said. He said that the centre would strive to provide round-the-clock protection for women and children.

“The complex with women's welfare centre, working women’s hostel, a library and children protection facility will provide comprehensive protection to women with children,” Harish Rao said. He added that the centre was linked with the Courts through a video conference facility so that the women in trouble could seek legal protection without going out. A women's counselor would be available to the women all the time.
