HYDERABAD: Former Minister T Harish Rao said that the defeat in the recent Assembly elections is nothing but a break and encouraged them to fight back in the upcoming Parliamentary elections.

Addressing the BRS party workers from Malkajgiri Lok Sabha Constituency, Harish Rao said that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy won with a wafer-thin margin in the Malkajgiri LS elections last time and said that he did nothing for his constituency.

“We have won all the seven Assembly segments in Malkajgiri, and now we must grab the Lok Sabha seat from the Congress,” Harish Rao said recalling that former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) never got disheartened when failures tested him during the agitation for Telangana.

“In 2009, we got only ten seats. Everyone thought that the days of KCR and his party were over. But he fought back. So we must fight with double the vigour,” Harish Rao said. The former Minister pointed out that the Revanth Reddy Government would miserably fail in implementing the 420 promises that the Congress had made. “Congress failed in implementing five guarantees in Karnataka. The pollsters are forecasting a defeat in the MP elections in Karnataka. The same scene will repeat in Telangana,” he said.

Pointing out that the Congress was trying to delay the implementation of poll time promises in the hope that the Election Commission would declare an election and the Model Code of Conduct would come into place. He said that the BJP which garnered more seats in GHMC with the help of false and tall promises failed to repeat the performance in the recent Assembly elections.

He said that the result of the ensuing Lok Sabha election would be completely different from that of the Assembly election in Telangana. He predicted that Congress would never return to power after five years. “ In Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, the Congress failed to return to power. On the other hand, the BRS lost the elections based on minor glitches. We will take all the suggestions given by the party workers into consideration and strengthen the party,” Harish Rao. He called upon the cadre to put an end to the drama unveiled by the BJP-Congress combine and strive for the victory of BRS.
