HYDERABAD: As part of the ongoing severe heat wave conditions, temperatures are likely to rise up to 47 Degrees Celsius in East Telangana from Wednesday till June 10, 2023. T Balaji, popularly known as Telangana Weatherman, tweeted to this effect predicting the record temperatures in the eastern region of the state.

Due to severe heat, several districts in Telangana will also experience scattered intense storms during evening and night. Temperatures are likely to range between 44-47 Degrees Celsius in KB Asifabad, Jagityal, Mancherial, Peddapalli, Sircilla, Karimnagar, Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Mahabubabad, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Suryapet and Nalgonda districts.

The mercury level is expected to hover between 42-44 Degrees Celsius in Adilabad, Nirmal, NIzamabad, Kamareddy, Siddipet, Warangal Urban, Warangal Rural, Jangaon and Yadadri Bhuvanagiri districts. Giving some respite for the people from scorching heat, temperatures are likely to range between 39-41 Degrees Celsius in Mahabubnagar, Narayanpet, Wanaparthy, Nagarkurnool and Gadwal districts.

The Telangana Weatherman also said that the heat wave would be abated from these regions by June 14, 2023. Temperatures will reduce gradually and monsoon winds will be established. However, the rains won’t be very active even after the onset of southwest monsoon. “A strong cyclone is likely to spin up in Arabian Sea and ensembles indicating it will be a strong cyclone moving towards Oman, Iran and Pakistan. This will take away the bulk of moisture and therefore cause a very weak onset of monsoon in Telangana during June 14-17, 2023 and weak monsoon conditions will prevail at least till June 20, 2023,” he stated in one of his tweets.

Similar heat wave conditions are also expected to prevail across Andhra Pradesh. Due to delay in the onset of southwest monsoon, heat wave conditions are likely to prevail in several districts of Andhra Pradesh with temperatures likely to range between 43-44 Degrees Celsius for the next three days, according to Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA) managing director Dr BR Ambedkar. People in NTR (mainly Vijayawada), Eluru, erstwhile East and West Godavari, Guntur, Bapatla, Palnadu, Prakasam, Nellore, Tirupati and also eastern parts of Rayalaseema will reel under severe heat wave conditions.

Heavy hailstorm is likely to occur in Nellipaka, Chintoor, Kunavaram and Vara Ramachandrapuram mandals of Alluri district. Severe hailstorms will also occur in Kukunoor and Velerupadu mandals of Eluru district along with another 212 mandals. The disaster management agency said that people should be alert for hail storms and lightning. Visakhapatnam city will experience cloudy weather along with some showers as there is moisture spreading across Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts. Several regions across the State will also experience rain during the evening, according to Sai Praneeth Burah, popularly known as Andhra Pradesh Weatherman.
