Highlight false promises of Congress; double speak on Adani: KTR to BRS leaders

HYDERABAD: BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) has asked party leaders to highlight the false promises made by Congress ahead of Telangana Assembly elections and that BJP and Congress are in hand-in-glove.

Speaking at the Medak constituency Parliamentary elections preparatory meeting on Friday, KTR said, "The Congress did not promise six but '420 guarantees'. All of us have a responsiblity to highlight it. Before elections, Revanth Reddy promised to implement loan waiver of upto Rs 2 lakh on December 9 but failed to do so. Priyanka Gandhi promised to provide unemployment benefits but Bhatti Vikramarka lied in the Assembly that no such promise was made. They promised to make Palamuru Ranga Reddy lift irrigation a national project. But it has become clear that it is not going to happen. The Congress made fake promises and we should highlight it."

Taking potshots at the Congress for its double-speak on Gautam Adani, KTR said, "Rahul Gandhi and Revanth Reddy criticised the links between Prime Minister and Adani. While Rahul criticised Adani, Revanth Reddy signed a deal in Davos to work with Adani Group. This explains how the Congress and the BJP are in the same team. Adani did not set foot here as long as KCR was the Chief Minister but is suddenly investing in the State after the Congress came to power."

Reminding leaders that the party won with a huge majority in Medak in the previous Lok Sabha elections, KTR said, "With the active leadership of KCR and Harish Rao, we got a huge majority in the last MP elections. There is no doubt that the pink flag will fly high this time again. Don't forget that it is our BRS MPs who raised their voice on behalf of Telangana for the last ten years. Only BRS can protect the interests of the State. Our strength, our voice, should be in the Parliament. Otherwise the interests of Telangana will be damaged. People should be told the same thing."
