HYDERABAD: Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan has added another chapter in the uneasy relationship between the ruling BRS Government and the Raj Bhavan. Speaking at an event on Saturday, the Governor tacitly referring to the BRS Government said, "If people throw stones at me, I will build a house. I don’t care about any insults, I will work for the people."

The Governor had organised a session at the Raj Bhavan to thank the President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for passing the Women’s Reservation Bill which guarantees 33 per cent reservation to women in Parliament and State Assemblies.

Taking potshots at the K Chandrashekar Rao Government, Tamilisai said, "When I became a Governor, there was not one single woman minister. After I took charge, two women became ministers. There are people who throw flowers on me and those who throw stones. If they throw stones at me, I will build a house. If they prick me with pins, I will write my history book with the blood that oozes out of those pins. Not everyone wants to please everyone. One should have the power to good deeds. I will not care about insults. I will work for the people," she said.

Speaking about her journey, Tamilisai said that everyone comes into politics with a dream and that she stayed away from the medical profession because of her love for politics. However, she was disappointed to find out that women did not get recognition even if she worked 20 times harder than men. "Male dominance is more in politics," she said.
