HYDERABAD: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for the next four days in Telangana starting on Sunday. The department has predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers in a few places throughout the State for the next four days

"Heavy rains are very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Komarambheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Warangal and Hanamkonda on Sunday," stated the IMD.

It has also advised people to follow safety precautions such as staying indoors, closing windows and doors, moving away from water bodies and not coming into contact with electric poles and wires.

"Unplug electronic appliances, avoid taking shelter under trees and temporarily suspend farming operations during rainfall," the department said.

"Light to moderate rain or thundershowers very likely to occur in a few places over Telangana from June 25 to June 28," stated the weather department.
