HYDERABAD: Immigrants from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi like sitting MLA Mynampalli Hanumanth Rao, former MLAs Vemula Veeresham, Jupalli Krishna Rao have made it to the Telangana Congress party’s first list of 55 candidates for the upcoming elections.

The Congress has given a quiet go-by to the Udaipur declaration which had restricted two tickets from the same family for new entrants and nominated Mynampally Hanumanth Rao (Malkajgiri) and his son Rohit Rao (Medak) in the first list. Thanks to their long standing service to the party, Uttam Kumar Reddy (Huzurnagar) and his wife Padmavathi (Kodad) to contest.

Mynampalli Hanumanth Rao and his son Rohit were fielded from Malkajgiri and Medak Assembly seats.

Vemula Veeresham has been given ticket from Nakrekal SC reserved seat . BRS MLC Kasireddy Narayan Reddy is fielded from Kalwakurthy Assembly seat.

Jupally Krishna Rao will be contesting from Kolhapur Assembly constituency. Sitting Congress MLAs Duddilla Sridhar Babu from Manthani, Turpu Jayaprakash Reddy from Sangareddy, Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka from Madhira and Podem Veeraiah from Bharracahalm (ST) and Dhanasari Anasuya from Mulugu (ST) have all been renominated to seek reelection from their respective constituencies.

Congress veteran Kunduru Janareddy's son Jayaveer is fielded from Nagarjunasagar Assembly seat.

Congress MLC T Jeevan Reddy is the party nominee from Jagtial, while former Deputy Chief Minister C Damodar Rajanarsimha will contest from Andole (SC) seat. Former MLC K Prem Sagar Rao has been fielded from Mancherial.

Former ministers Gaddam Vinod from Bellampalli (SC), P Sudarshan Reddy from Bodhan, Gaddam Prasad Kumar from Vikarabad (SC), former MP Anjan Kumar Yadav from Musheerabad Assembly seat secured Congress tickets.

What’s interesting is that the name of former Minister Mohammed Ali Shabbir, who is supposed to lock horns with Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is conspicuous by its absence in the first list.

However, Tumkunta Narsa Reddy is pitted from Gajwel against the Chief Minister who is seeking a reelection. Similarly, the Congress has yet to name its candidates from Sircilla Assembly seat from where BRS Working President K T Rama Rao will contest, and Siddipet from where BRS strongman and Finance Minister T Harish Rao will seek a reelection.

A senior journalist Kota Neelima a senior journalist and wife of senior congress leader Pavan Khera is pitted against Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav from Sanatnagar.
