HYDERABAD: Justice Alok Aradhe was sworn in as Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court at Raj Bhavan on Sunday.

Aradhe was administered the oath of office by Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan at a simple ceremony in the presence of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, and some of his cabinet colleagues.

Justice Alok Aradhe who was earlier Chief Justice of Karnataka, succeeded Justice Ujjal Bhuyan. Justice Bhuyan was elevated to the post of judge of the Supreme Court.

Justice Alok Aradhe was born in Raipur. After completing BSc and LLB he enrolled as Advocate on July 12, 1988. Designated as Senior Advocate in April 2007, revised the 5th and 6th Editions of Principles of Administrative Law by MP Jain and SN Jain with late Justice GP Singh, Chief Justice of High Court of Madhya Pradesh.

He was Visiting Faculty in Judicial Officers Training and Research Institute to address judicial officers on various issues. Practiced Civil and Constitutional, Arbitration and Company Matters in the High Court of Madhya Pradesh at Jabalpur.

Appointed as Additional Judge of the High Court of Madhya Pradesh on December 29, 2009, and Permanent Judge on February 15, 2011. Transferred to High Court of Jammu and Kashmir on September 16, 2016, and took the oath of office on 20th September 2016. Nominated as Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir State Judicial Academy. Appointed as Acting Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir in 2018 He was nominated as Executive Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir State Legal Services Authority in September 2018. On transfer to Karnataka High Court, he took oath as Judge of Karnataka High Court and assumed charge as the Acting Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court on July 3, 2022.
