HYDERABAD: Former Deputy Chief Minister and MLA Kadiyam Srihari has challenged Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to win all 17 MP seats in Telangana in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, Kadiyam Srihari criticised Revanth Reddy's recent comments and alleged that Congress leaders were targeting the opposition to cover up their inability to deliver on the promised guarantees.

Kadiyam Srihari found Revanth Reddy's challenge to the BRS party to win a single MP seat in the upcoming election absurd, especially by invoking ‘masculinity’. Srihari questioned Congress's inability to secure a single seat in the seven Assembly constituencies under the Malkajigiri Parliamentary constituency, which Revanth Reddy represented as an MP until he became the Chief Minister.

Srihari further said the attempt to bring ‘masculinity’ into political discourse, drawing parallels with potential insults to party leaders such as Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi. He challenged Revanth Reddy to prove his ‘masculinity’ by winning all 17 MP seats in Telangana.

Regarding Revanth Reddy's claim that the CM's chair did not come to him as a gift or by inheritance, Srihari countered stating that it was received as a reward. He questioned the Congress party's stance on family politics and commented on its continued reliance on the legacy of Indira Gandhi.

Characterising the Congress as no longer a national party, he said it had become worse than a regional party. He urged Revanth Reddy to act as the Chief Minister for the people of Telangana, rather than solely for the Congress party.

Srihari asserted that Telangana had set an example for the country during the ten years of KCR's rule. However, he accused the Congress party of using the Kaleshwaram project for political gains and called for a thorough investigation by an expert committee. He insisted on legal action against those responsible for any wrongdoing.

Alleging an insidious agenda by the Congress Government to allow the complete deterioration of the Medigadda without repairs, Srihari advocated for immediate repairs to benefit farmers. He urged the Chief Minister to exercise caution in his language and communication.

Warangal MP Pasunuri Dayakar, Warangal district BRS party president former MLA Aruri Ramesh, former MLA Challa Dharma Reddy and other BRS leaders were also present.
