HYDERABAD: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) President and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) on Wednesday exuded confidence that the party would win 105 seats with its hands down if the elections were conducted right away.

Addressing an extended meeting of the party with MPs, MLAs and MLCs at Telangana Bhavan on May 17, 2023, he said that Telangana had witnessed the development of a century in just a decade.

The BRS chief made it clear to the party leaders that they should meet people and highlight the initiatives the government had taken up for their benefit in the past 10 years. He said that the people would then understand what the BRS government had done for them, eventually deciding to vote for the party.

“Have food with the people on the banks of the water bodies that the government has repaired,” he told the MLAs, asking them to spend a considerable amount of time in their constituencies, indicating that their performance on the ground would be a deciding factor in their candidacy for the elections.

KCR also said that, In contrast, the Congress had done nothing for Telangana in the past 70 years while calling upon the party seniors to take up “Telangana Rasthra Avatarana Dashabdi Utsavalu” on a grand scale across the state. The decennial celebrations will be taken up for 21 days beginning June 02, 2023.

The Chief Minister also called for a Cabinet meeting, the first in the newly constructed Secretariat on May 18, 2023, to discuss the progress of various ongoing welfare schemes. The last cabinet meeting was conducted at Pragathi Bhavan on March 9, 2023.

The meeting of KCR with his party lawmakers has acquired prominence after the victory of the Congress party in the neighbouring state of Karnataka.
