HYDERABAD: Telangana Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) KT Rama Rao on Saturday said that Opposition parties in the State were gripped in fear after Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) made an announcement to contest for Kamareddy in the coming elections.

KTR laid the foundation stone for a mini stadium at Kamareddy. Addressing a public gathering, he said, "The entire nation is debating on Kamareddy after the announcement of KCR's candidature from the constituency. There will be a strong reason for any decision taken by the Chief Minister. Similar is the case with his candidature from Kamareddy as he has an unbreakable bond with the people of the constituency."

The MA&UD Minister said that Gajwel and Siddipet constituencies had witnessed unprecedented development after KCR contested from the respective constituencies in the earlier elections. "The victory of KCR is decided soon after his decision to contest for Kamareddy. The only thing is, people should give a clear mandate for KCR in the coming elections to witness the development on a par with Gajwel and Siddipet," he said, and added that a special manifesto would be prepared for the holistic development of Kamareddy.

KTR said that the BRS got an overwhelming response from the people of Maharashtra and they were in need of implementation of schemes like 24-hour power supply, Dalit Bandhu, Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bhima in their State. Referring to the criticism of the Congress and the BJP that the BRS was a B-team, he said, “The BRS is neither the A-team nor the B-team of any party, but the BRS is the political party of farmers, women, minorities and downtrodden sections of the society and our goal is to bring a qualitative change in the lives of Telangana people.”

Launching a scathing attack on the Opposition leaders A Revanth Reddy and G Kishan Reddy, KTR said that they did not have the stature to fight with KCR, who risked his life to get Statehood for Telangana. “In what capacity, Revanth Reddy is making remarks on KCR who was a thief caught red-handed in the cash-for-vote case and his BJP counterpart Kishan Reddy who fled abroad when asked to resign during the Telangana movement,” KTR said.
